Key takeaways
- You can only schedule posts to Facebook Pages, not personal profiles.
- Meta Business Suite schedules Facebook and Instagram; a third-party scheduler adds other networks, AI and approvals.
- With Quevix: connect the Page, create the post, pick a time, done.
Scheduling Facebook posts lets you prepare a week of content in one sitting and publish it at the times your audience is online. Here are the three main ways to do it, and when to use each.
Before you start: Pages only
Facebook allows scheduling for Pages, not personal profiles. If your business posts from a personal profile, create a Facebook Page for it first. You need to be an admin of the Page, or have a role with permission to create content.
Option 1: Meta Business Suite
Good for: businesses that only post to Facebook and Instagram. Limits: no other networks, no AI writing in your brand voice, no approval workflow for teams.
- Open Meta Business Suite and choose your Page.
- Select “Create post” (or “Create reel”).
- Add text, photos or video and choose where to post (Facebook, and Instagram if linked).
- Open the scheduling options, choose a date and time and confirm.
Option 2: from your Facebook Page
On desktop, open your Page, start a post and look for the scheduling option before publishing. Facebook moves these options from time to time, and they usually send you to Meta Business Suite anyway.
Option 3: with a social media scheduler (Quevix)
Good for: businesses on several networks, teams that need approvals, and anyone who wants AI to write and design the posts. See Facebook scheduling in Quevix.
- Connect your Page. In Quevix go to social connections, choose Facebook and sign in. Pick the Pages to connect.
- Create the post. Write it, generate it with AI, start from a link or choose a template. Add up to ten photos, a video or a reel.
- Add extras. A first comment (for hashtags or a link) and a location tag.
- Pick a time. Publish now, choose a date and time, or drag it onto the calendar.
- Add more networks. Select Instagram, Threads, LinkedIn, TikTok or X in the same post.
How to schedule a Facebook reel
Reels are vertical 9:16 videos. Upload one, or make one from photos with the reel maker, then schedule it exactly like a post. You can send the same reel to Instagram and TikTok at the same time.
When to post on Facebook
Generic “best time to post” charts average millions of other audiences. Your own audience is what counts: post at different times for a few weeks and compare reach. Quevix builds a best-time heatmap from your own posts. Read how to find your best time to post.
Frequently asked questions
Can I schedule posts on a personal Facebook profile?
No. Facebook only allows scheduling, through its own tools or third-party schedulers, on Pages. Create a Page for your business to schedule posts.
Can I edit a scheduled Facebook post?
Yes. In Quevix open the post in the calendar and edit it any time before it is published.
Is there a free way to schedule Facebook posts?
Meta Business Suite is free for Facebook and Instagram. Quevix has a free plan that also covers other networks and includes AI credits.
